Let me introduce my eldest granddaughter, Xan who will be 15 on February 1st. Xan and her mom, my daughter, Gina live with me.
Xan was born with Septo-Optic Dysplasia. Her Optic Nerves are short and thin, and she has low vision as a result. She has been going to Camp Helen Keller every summer since she was five years old, and loves every minute of camp life. A few years ago Xan and I watched a movie called PAY IT FORWARD. She is aware of just how lucky she is and is always trying to help others. She fund raises for Camp Helen Keller and walks in the annual CROP WALK sponsored by our church.
This year, Xan has decided that she would like her birthday party to be a Fund Raiser. Instead of gifts for her, she would like donations to Camp Helen Keller. In addition, she will also collect food for the local Food Pantry. Our area was devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
Stay tuned for more information on this upcoming event.

Oh, Lyn, you must be so proud to have such a wonderful caring granddaughter! What a wonderful young lady!
