Yesterday our church participated in the Church World Services CROP Walk.  Xan and Gina walked about 2 1/2 miles.  That’s really terrific for a young lady who has only been walking on her own for 5 years.  I cannot believe how far this young lady has come in her short life.  When she was 5 her two uncles got married 10 weeks apart and she was flower girl for both of them.  Her uncles took turns walking her down the aisle with her mom, each holding one hand so she would not  have to use her walker.  She was in a private school until she could walk on her own in school, with an aid, of course, just in case.  Now she is navigating High School, and walking to help eradicate hunger.  She had over $670.00 in pledges.  Pretty good, I would say.     Thank you to all of you who encouraged and helped Xan on her latest fund raiser.  You are all super people!!!
