Nana’s Open Face Sandwich

When it was cold outside, my mom would make these hot, open faced sandwiches for us.  Since we are having the coldest day in over 20 years here on Long Island, I thought I would make these sandwiches for lunch.  They are a favorite with the grandchildren.  We use Rye bread (with seeds), American cheese, Tomatoes, and today we had Kielbasas.  Layer the cheese, then tomato and finally the Kielbasas on the rye bread.  Broil for 2 to 3 minutes or until the meat is crispy and the cheese is melted.  This is a quick and easy lunch that I think you will enjoy.
