On June 2, 2017 Nassau County hosted the New York State Empire Victory Challenge.  We had over 100 school districts from all over the state compete in these games for the physically challenged.  Farmingdale School District once again participated and Xan had a great time with all her friends from High School.  Since Xan is physically challenged she may participate in the games until she is 21. This year Xan did exceptionally well.  She earned Gold in every event she participated in …… 6 Gold Medals.

All the children had a wonderful time.  Farmingdale had a student, Danny Carlson who loved Ice Cream and asked for it at the end of the games each year.  Unfortunately, Danny has passed but his memory lives on.  His parents bought ice cream for Team Farmingdale for years, and this year one of our wonderful therapists parents decided to carry on the tradition.  As you can imagine, all the children were thrilled.  Another wonderful day on Long Island.
