Welcome.  My name is Marilyn Valente and I am a native Long Islander.  My parents moved to Long Island from Queens, New York in 1949.  I attended school here and then went off to the wilds of South Dakota ( in the “stone age” ) for undergraduate school.  What a great adventure that was, and you will hear more about those adventures as well.  I returned to Long Island, married and had three children all of whom attended the same schools as their dad and I did.  That was a fun time in our lives.  The children all have children of their own now, and I have progressed into the best part of my life.  “Grammiedom”.  I am of 100% Italian decent but my children have the “League of Nations” running through their blood and I have Catholic, Protestant and Jewish grandchildren.  That means a lot of holidays with big dinners and lots of great tasting food.  Long Island has so much to offer. We enjoy peach and apple picking, attending local festivals, regional theatre and having fun.  Join us on our adventures beginning in 2013.
