I just made this blanket for one of the members of my Church pilgrim Fellowship group from back in the late 1980’s. The kids have all remained friends and I still keep in contact with most of them. This young lady lives in Georgia now.
This blanket is easy to make. The trick is you have to count. I used Pink, blue, yellow, green, white and multicolored yarns.
Chain 180 stitches with white. Turn and single crochet one stitch in each of the next nine chains. Single crochet 3 stitches in the next chain. single crochet one stitch in each of the next 9 chains. Skip 2 chains and Single crochet one stitch into each of the next 9 chains. Repeat this pattern to the end.
Turn and repeat starting from one stitch from the needle. You should always have nine stitches between the peaks and valleys.
I made each color 6 rows and then 3 rows of white between the colors to delineate the colors a bit.
